In 2025, Jay Walkers took the first step to become a nationally recognized nonprofit. We believe suicide prevention requires year-round effort, not just one month of awareness.
Jay Walkers’ mission is to mobilize ordinary people for suicide prevention. By improving our understanding of suicide and taking simple steps, each of us can prevent it in our circles, increasing safety for ourselves, family, and friends.
Jay Walkers is a grassroots campaign focused on growing a community of suicide prevention activists. We realize that the suicide challenge before us is enormous, but when each of us does our part, we can make a difference! Our success is contingent upon the size of our community. The more people we reach, the greater our impact will be!
We are grateful to our fiscal sponsor, the Endowment for Community Leadership. Their support is vital for Jay Walkers to transition from a 30-day program into a full-fledged nonprofit organization with the potential to protect communities and save lives.
